On December 9, 2024 First Methodist Church caught fire, burning portions of the building completely down. The Day School attached to the church lost the school’s music room and gym where students played to the fire. The Day School itself sustained smoke and significantly heavy water damage causing the school to lose all materials, curriculum, school supplies, etc. The Day School is displaced in the meantime at First Baptist Church in downtown Marshall and is working to reestablish classroom materials, supplies, and furniture.
From the parents at our school, to the community around us, to the churches who have (quite literally) lifted us up during this difficult time, we say THANK YOU. We have seen and continue to see God’s hand of protection working through you. Our school is slowly, but surely getting back into full operation and we are working hard to continue to offer all of the special and unique things that our students and community have come to love.

Donations are also being accepted in person at Texas Bank and Trust in Marshall. Just let them know you have a donation for “First Methodist Day SCHOOL’s Donation Account” and the bank will deposit your donation into the donation account for this.
